TiE University MENA Pitch: Skyline University Nigeria’s Aisha Kabir emerges second runner-up

Aisha Kabir, a level 400 student in the department of Entrepreneurship at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN), has emerged as the second-runner-up at the recently concluded Tie University MENA Pitch competition out of 115 start-up idea submissions.
Aisha’s proposed start-up, Carehome Plus, designed to help people take care of their aging parents by delivering specialized home services, was greatly applauded as highly innovative.

The TiE University MENA Pitch Competition was done for the rest of the Middle East and Africa category students who were competing for a spot in the global finals. The competition represents the second year of the regional championship for the African region and the first year for the rest of the Middle East, such as Iran and Jordan.
Ms. Hafsa Usman, the event coordinator at SUN, who facilitated the event with participants and some of the jury virtually, started by introducing the jury and highlighting the rules for the competition. With each team presenting their ideas within the span of 7 minutes each, a total of 9 teams—finalists—presented their ideas to the jury.
After the presentations, the jury, consisting of Mr. Haresh Ganglani, Mr. Sriram Venkateswaran, Ms. Jamila Haq and Ummahani Amin, who are all seasoned experts in business development and organizational management, announced the winners of the competition: AR-ENA as the winner, TSH Global Styler as the first runner-up and Carehome Plus by Aisha Kabir as the second runner-up.
In their various remarks, the jury commended all the teams that participated in the final round of the competition. They specially commended the four teams from SUN that participated in the competition.
Delivering her remarks, the Dean of the School of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), Dr. Sudha Mavuri, said she is beyond elated that Carehome Plus, the idea presented by Aisha Kabir, was a success. She said her performance and that of the other teams are a testament to the dedication to excellence and innovation upheld by the university. She then thanked the management of the university for its endless support for the success of the program.
