TRADOC Commander inaugurates remodeled Army children school, and donates educational materials

In a commendable initiative aimed at enhancing the educational landscape within the Minna Military Cantonment, Major General Kevin Aligbe, the Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), recently unveiled the newly remodeled Army Children School. This project stands as a testament to the commitment of TRADOC NA to provide a conducive learning environment for the children of military personnel and the neighboring communities. The remodeled Army Children School is one of several projects undertaken by Major General Kevin Aligbe since assuming office at Headquarters TRADOC NA. His vision for the school's transformation was driven by the desire to create an ideal learning and teaching environment for both pupils and staff. The project aligns perfectly with the philosophy of Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, which emphasizes the welfare and motivation of troops.

During the inauguration ceremony, Major General Aligbe expressed his dedication to advancing education as a cornerstone of national development. He stressed the importance of quality education in reducing poverty and illiteracy in society. His commitment to providing the best possible educational facilities and materials for the children reflects his belief in their potential to assume leadership positions in the future. Major General Aligbe noted that the dilapidated state of the school before its remodeling could have had a detrimental effect on the psyche of the children. Recognizing that approximately 75 percent of the more than 3,800 students and pupils in Minna Military Cantonment come from neighboring communities, he underscored the school's vital role in fostering a conducive and inclusive learning environment.

Furthermore, Major General Aligbe introduced academic competitions such as Spelling Bee and Scrabble to stimulate and encourage academic activities in the schools. These competitions are expected to motivate students to excel in their studies and develop their cognitive skills. Major General Kevin Aligbe's commitment to enhancing education through the remodeled Army Children School and the TRADOC NA Educational Support Programme is a commendable endeavor that underscores the significance of education in national development.
