Oluwaseun Bamigboye, a Nigerian economist, has etched her name in history by becoming the first female PhD holder at the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE). Accomplishing this milestone, she earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension in December 2021, focusing on the quality requirements of Internet of Things streaming data for agricultural extension services.

Dr. Bamigboye, beyond being a scholar, serves as a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, imparting knowledge in software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. Her contributions extend to the realm of research, with several published papers on semantic model-driven frameworks, agricultural extension, and rural livelihoods.

She continued her academic pursuit with a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Extension, graduating in 2014, during which her interest in data analysis and software development emerged.

Her PhD research, supervised by Prof. Adeniji, Prof. Fakayode, and Dr. Ogunjimi, resulted in a thesis titled “Semantic Model-Driven Framework for Validating Quality Requirements of Internet of Things Streaming Data.”
