Two UDUS 400-Level Mathematics Students Killed in Ghastly Accident

With deep sorrow, the management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University (UDU) announces the tragic loss of two 400-level students of the Department of Mathematics, Lukuman Ado Guga and Abduljalilu Abdulhadi.

The students were involved in a fatal accident on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, near the Danbaba Dambuwa Filling Station, opposite Zamson Filling Station, Sokoto.

According to eyewitnesses, a trailer vehicle crushed the students who were riding a motorcycle, resulting in the instant death of one student and the other passing away while receiving treatment at the Trauma Center of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital.

The university community mourns the loss of these promising young scholars. The Vice Chancellor and members of the management attended the funeral prayer for Lukuman Ado Guga, held at Sultan Abubakar College, Sokoto. The remains of Abduljalilu Abdulhadi are being transported to his hometown of Funtuwa for burial.
