On September 5, 2024, a pivotal capacity-building workshop on gender mainstreaming was held at Crispan Hotel, Jos. The event, organized by U.N. Women in collaboration with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) and supported by the Norwegian Embassy, was designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff from the Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission.

On September 5, 2024, a pivotal capacity-building workshop on gender mainstreaming was held at Crispan Hotel, Jos. The event, organized by U.N.   • Dr. Julie Sanda, Director General of the Plateau State Peace Building Agency, delivered an engaging presentation on "Understanding Gender Basic Concepts," laying a foundational understanding of gender issues.

  • Dr. Plangsat Dayil addressed "Gender Responsive Budgeting," emphasizing the importance of incorporating gender considerations into financial planning and resource allocation.

  • Prof. Shedrack Best, Vice-Chancellor of Plateau State University (PLASU), conducted several critical sessions:

    • "Gender Mainstreaming in Action Planning".

These sessions provided participants with valuable insights into integrating gender perspectives into various areas of governance and policy-making, aiming to promote gender equality and inclusivity in Plateau State.

The workshop was a significant step towards strengthening the capacity of the Plateau State Gender and Equal Opportunities Commission and advancing gender mainstreaming efforts within the state.
