Taraba State University to Host Nigerian Education Loan Fund Sensitization Campaign

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) will visit Taraba State University, Jalingo, on November 28, 2024, to conduct a sensitization campaign on the Federal Government's Student Loan Scheme. The program, set to take place at Lecture Theatre 1D (LT1D) at 10:00 AM, aims to educate students on how to access the loan to ease academic financial challenges.

Taraba State University, Jalingo, is set to host the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as part of a sensitization and awareness campaign on the Federal Government's Student Loan Scheme. This initiative, designed to ease the financial burdens of students, is scheduled to hold on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Lecture Theatre 1D (LT1D).

According to a directive from the Student Union Government (SUG) President, Rose Agada, all departmental and faculty presidents, as well as newly elected and outgoing senators, are mandated to attend the event alongside 20 students from their respective departments.

The sensitization program aims to provide comprehensive information on how students can access the loan scheme, detailing the application process, eligibility criteria, and the benefits of the program. This move is expected to ensure that Taraba State University students can leverage the scheme to alleviate their academic financial challenges.

The Student Union Government Public Relations Officer (P.R.O), Comr. Ukum Theophilus, emphasized the importance of punctuality and active participation. He urged attendees to arrive by 9:30 AM and come prepared with relevant questions.

“This is a significant opportunity for our university community. Other institutions have already benefited from this initiative, and it’s crucial for us to ensure we are not left behind,” stated Comr. Ukum.
