The University of Abuja's Centre for Health Systems Support and Development welcomed 58 new postgraduate students in various medical specializations during an orientation on August 13, 2024.

The University of Abuja Centre for Health Systems Support and Development conducted an orientation exercise for its newly admitted postgraduate students for the 2023/2024 academic session. The event, held on August 13, 2024, at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), marked the beginning of an academic journey for 58 students enrolled in various medical specializations.

Dr. Khadijat Musah, the Director of the Centre and Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, announced that the Centre had admitted students into Postgraduate Diploma, Master's, and PhD programs. These programs span multiple disciplines, including nursing, midwifery, public health, allied health, and medical laboratory sciences. She also highlighted the Centre's pioneering efforts in introducing postgraduate studies in nuclear and sports nursing, a first in Nigeria.

The orientation was officially opened by Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, who was represented by Professor Wasiu Gabadeen, the Director of the Academic Planning Unit. In her address, Professor Maikudi emphasized the University's commitment to ensuring that its Nursing and Allied Health Sciences programs are aligned with global standards. She encouraged the students to work hard and assured them of the University's unwavering support throughout their academic pursuits.
