UNIBEN Begins Search for New Vice-Chancellor as Prof. Salami's Tenure Nears End
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced an opening for the position of Vice-Chancellor.This comes as the tenure of the incumbent,Professor Salami,is set to conclude on November 30th,2024. Prof. L.I. Salami is the first indigenous female Vice-Chancellor, the second female Vice-Chancellor and the tenth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin. She recieved her appointment since 2019.

Professor Salami is a fellow of the International Federation of Home Economics (IFHE),Nutrition society of Nigeria (NSN) and Home Economics Professional Association of Nigeria (HEPAN). She was the pioneer president of Home Economics Teachers’Association of Edo State and a steering member of Home Economics Council of Nigeria.She was also a pioneer member of African Nutrition leadership programme, South Africa.
