UNIDEL Re-Elects Prof. J.C. Igweh as Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences

The Faculty Board of Studies, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Delta (UNIDEL), has unanimously re-elected Professor John C. Igweh as Dean of the Faculty for a second term.

The Faculty Board of Studies, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Delta (UNIDEL), has unanimously re-elected Professor John C. Igweh as Dean of the Faculty for a second term.

The election took place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the 175-capacity hall of the Faculty.

In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Igweh expressed gratitude to members of the Faculty for the confidence reposed in him, describing the re-election as a clear endorsement of the collective efforts made in recent years to project the Faculty to greater heights.

He called on staff to embrace unity and collaboration in order to further strengthen the Faculty’s academic profile. “I want to encourage us to be more united and to work together in unity so as to attain academic excellence,” he said.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor at the event, Prof. C.C. Ishekwene congratulated Prof. Igweh on his re-election and commended members of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for conducting a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
