UNILAG Creative Arts Department Hosts Erasmus Music Workshop

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host an Erasmus Music Workshop from October 11 to 15, 2024, organized by the Music Unit of the Department of Creative Arts. The workshop, part of the KA 171 Project “MMM Mediterranean/Sub-Saharan Music Movement,” aims to expose students to diverse musical traditions through courses taught by professors from the Conservatorio di Musica “Alessandro Scarlatti” in Palermo, Italy.

UNILAG Creative Arts Department Hosts Erasmus Music Workshop

The Music Unit of the Department of Creative Arts at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) is set to host an Erasmus Music Workshop from October 11 to October 15, 2024. The workshop will commence daily at 10:00 a.m. and is organized under the Staff/Student Mobility Erasmus+ Programme, specifically the KA 171 Project “MMM Mediterranean/Sub-Saharan Music Movement.” This initiative is part of an Inter-Institutional Agreement between the Conservatorio di Musica “Alessandro Scarlatti” in Palermo, Italy, and UNILAG.

The workshop aims to immerse UNILAG students in the rich and diverse musical traditions of the MMM Mediterranean/Sub-Saharan Music Movement. Esteemed professors from the Conservatory in Palermo will lead a variety of courses, including European and Latin American contemporary piano dances, piano techniques, European Theory and Systems, organology, and Sicilian musical traditions.
