Dr. AbdulQudus Jamiu, a lecturer at the University of Ilorin, has been inducted as a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals for his significant contributions to health promotion.

Dr. AbdulQudus Jamiu, a distinguished lecturer in the Department of Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education (HPEHE) at the University of Ilorin, has been honored with the Fellowship award from the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AIPHP). 

The award notification, dated July 15, 2024, and addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN), reveals that the induction ceremony took place on July 10, 2024, at Adeleke University in Ede, Osun State.

Dr. Jamiu, an alumnus of the University of Ilorin, is recognized for his extensive expertise in areas such as Family and Reproductive Health, Safety Education, Nutrition, Health Promotion, Mental Health, and Education. His contributions extend beyond academia, having consulted for numerous non-governmental organizations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, focusing on safeguarding and fostering professional relationships with vulnerable adults.

Dr. Jamiu is a respected member of the Nigerian Association of Health Educators (NAHE) and the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), among other professional bodies. His commitment to continuous professional development is evident through his participation in various training programs in both Nigeria and the UK.

In a show of support, Prof. Lasiele Yahaya, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Prof. Shuaib Oniyangi, Head of the Department of HPEHE, extended their congratulations to Dr. Jamiu, commending his achievement and encouraging him to continue elevating the department.
