The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled Olanrewaju AbdulKadir, a 100-level student, for allegedly demanding ransom from the parents of a missing fellow student. The expulsion was detailed in the university’s weekly bulletin, signed by Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun.

AbdulKadir, with matriculation number 22/52HL004, was a first-year student in the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences. The university authorities took decisive action to maintain discipline and uphold the institution's integrity.

In a separate incident, UNILORIN also rusticated Segun Michael Oyewole, a 400-level student from the Department of Counselling Education, Faculty of Education, for one academic session. Oyewole was penalized for physically assaulting a female student, reinforcing the university's zero-tolerance policy towards violence.
These disciplinary measures underscore UNILORIN's commitment to ensuring a safe and respectful academic environment for all students.
