UNIMAID Community Congratulates New Vice Chancellor, Professor Mele

The University of Maiduguri community has come together to celebrate the appointment of Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele as the new Vice Chancellor. On September 24, 2024, various departments, committees, and community groups paid courtesy visits to his office to congratulate him on the new role.
Among the well-wishers were the Committee of Co-System, the Yoruba community in Borno State, the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), the University’s Security Division, the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Committee, and the Students’ Union Government (SUG).
They commended Professor Mele’s leadership, dedication, and vision, expressing confidence in his ability to guide the institution to greater heights.
In response, Professor Mele thanked them for their support and assured the university community of his commitment to working towards the progress and development of the institution.
