UNIOSUN Celebrates 14th Convocation with 59 First-Class Graduands

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has announced that 59 students achieved First-Class honors at its 14th convocation. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Clement Adeboye, reported that 2.75% of the graduating class earned First-Class degrees, with 31.38% receiving Second Class Upper, 51.56% Second Class Lower, and 14.17% Third Class honors.

Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has proudly announced that 59 students achieved First-Class honors in its 14th convocation ceremony. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Odunayo Clement Adeboye, revealed at a pre-convocation press conference that these exceptional students represent 2.75% of the graduating class.

In addition to the First-Class graduates, Prof. Adeboye provided a detailed breakdown of the graduating students' degree classifications. A total of 673 students achieved Second Class Upper Division, making up 31.38% of the graduates. Second Class Lower Division graduates numbered 1,109, representing 51.56%, while 304 students earned Third Class honors, constituting 14.17% of the total.

This year, Osun State University will confer a total of 2,409 degrees and diplomas. This includes approximately 2,145 first degrees, 10 postgraduate diplomas, 214 master’s degrees, and 40 doctoral degrees.

Prof. Adeboye expressed gratitude to Governor Ademola Adeleke for his steadfast support, stating, “Your investment in our university continues to drive us towards excellence. Your contributions are invaluable in advancing our mission.”

Looking ahead, Prof. Adeboye outlined the university’s ambitious goals, aiming to rank among the top 10 universities in Nigeria and within the top 20 in Africa in the near future. “Our path is clear, and our strategies are robust. We are committed to providing a conducive learning environment, ensuring staff and students’ satisfaction, and leveraging modern technologies to achieve our vision,” he affirmed.

The Vice-Chancellor also extended his appreciation to the entire university community for their role in reaching this significant milestone, promising continued efforts to elevate Osun State University to greater heights.
