UNIOSUN Inducts 199 Graduate Teachers, Awards Scholarships and Cash Prizes
Osun State University’s College of Education (UNIOSUN COE) recently inducted 199 graduate teachers into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) during a ceremony at its main campus in Osogbo.
Osun State University’s College of Education (UNIOSUN COE), Ipetu Ijesa Campus, recently reaffirmed its leadership in teacher development with the induction of 199 graduate teachers into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). The ceremony, held at the university’s main campus in Osogbo, further highlights UNIOSUN's commitment to nurturing future educators in Nigeria.
Professor Florence Adeoti Yusuf, the Provost of UNIOSUN COE and an expert in Guidance and Counselling, stressed the indispensable role teachers play in society. She described teachers as "unsung heroes" who shape the future by inspiring young minds.
At the event, Afolabi Celestina Aderonke, the overall best graduating student, was awarded a full scholarship for her Master’s and PhD studies, alongside a ₦100,000 cash prize courtesy of Senator Kamorudeen Olalere, the Deputy Minority Leader of Nigeria’s 10th Senate. Additionally, six other high-achieving students with CGPAs above 4.0 received cash gifts of ₦100,000 each, sponsored by Professor Dayo Akinmoladun and Crown Prince Babajide Agunbiade of Ipetu-Ijesa Kingdom.
Dr. Adeyinka Oluwaseun Kareem, the guest lecturer, urged the graduates to embrace technology for creativity and self-development. UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, praised the university’s achievements and encouraged ongoing partnerships to continue its educational impact.
The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduates by TRCN Registrar, Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, while Dr. Jubril Busuyi Fakokunde, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, encouraged the inductees to remain exemplary ambassadors of UNIOSUN.
