UNIOSUN Technologist Receives Prestigious Travel Grant for WorldLab Dubai 2024 Conference

Osun State University has proudly announced that Mr. Samuel Akinwale Olawumi, a technologist in the Department of Biochemistry, has been honored with the Africa Federation of Clinical Chemistry (AFCC) travel grant. This esteemed recognition was revealed to the public through a statement issued by the University's Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on May 5, 2024.

According to Adesoji, Mr. Olawumi, a distinguished member of the Association of Clinical Chemists of Nigeria (ACCN), secured the travel grant under the auspices of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC). This grant will facilitate his attendance at the prestigious WorldLab Dubai 2024 conference, scheduled to take place from May 26th to May 30th, 2024.

The statement further elaborated that Mr. Olawumi's selection for the travel grant signifies recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of clinical chemistry. He is slated to present an accepted abstract titled: "Determination of biochemically essential sulfhydryl proteins in selenium derivatives of chlorodiphenyl diselinide formation in simple biological model; implications of its glutathione peroxidase mimicry therapeutic potentials."
