UNIUYO Releases Basic Studies Admission Form for 2025/2026 Academic Year

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced the commencement of sales of admission forms into its one-year Basic Studies Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The announcement was made by the Registrar of the university, Mr. Aniediabasi Udofia.

The Basic Studies Programme is designed to prepare students for the examinations conducted by the Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB). Successful candidates who obtain the JUPEB certificate will subsequently be admitted into the 200 level of degree programmes offered by the University of Uyo through JAMB Direct Entry.

Candidates admitted into the programme can progress into the following faculties:

• Allied Health Sciences
• Basic Medical Sciences
• Biological Sciences
• Clinical Sciences
• Communication and Media Studies
• Computing
• Education
• Engineering
• Environmental Studies
• Law
• Management Sciences
• Pharmacy
• Physical Sciences
• Science
• Social Sciences
• Vocational Education
• Library and Information Science

Admission Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) credit passes, including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Three (3) other subjects relevant to the chosen course of study
• Results must be obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in any of the following:
  • SSCE/WASCE
  • GCE O/L
  • NECO
  • NABTEB
• Admission will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
• JAMB score is not required.
• Candidates for the 2025 UTME can also apply as there will be no supplementary application.

Method of Application

1. Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦15,500.00 only via the Remita Payment Platform.
2. Visit https://eportals.uniuyo.edu.ng or www.uniuyo.edu.ng and click on the e-portals link.
3. Select Basic Studies Link and click Create Account.
4. Enter details and click Create Account.
5. Click Make Payment.
6. Choose either:
   • Bank Option: Generate e-invoice → Print → Pay at any commercial bank with RRR.
   • Card Option: Select payment type → Enter card details → Click “Pay.”
7. After payment, return to the portal.
8. Click Login Form Link.
9. Enter your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number to complete registration.

Important Notes

• The same passport photograph uploaded will be used for:
  • Online registration
  • Screening exercise
  • Registration after provisional admission
• No complaint of wrong biodata or blank photograph will be entertained after submission.
• Candidates who upload wrong biodata will be automatically disqualified.
• The same payment procedure applies for all subsequent fees after admission.

Key Dates

• Closing date for registration: 30th September, 2025 (Midnight)
• Online screening exercise: 27th October – 7th November, 2025
