University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry admission screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session, inviting suitably qualified JAMB candidates to apply.

University of Calabar (UNICAL) has announced the commencement of its Post-UTME and Direct Entry admission screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session, inviting suitably qualified JAMB candidates to apply.

Eligibility for Application

The university stated that the following categories of candidates are eligible:

a. Candidates who selected the University of Calabar as their first choice in the 2026/2027 JAMB UTME, applied for any programme, and scored a minimum of 150.

b. Candidates who did not choose the University of Calabar as their first choice but are willing to study at the institution, provided they scored at least 150 in the 2026/2027 JAMB UTME.

Opening of Portal and Registration

Registration is scheduled to commence on Monday, June 1, 2026. The application portal will remain open until July 31, 2026.

New Payment and Registration Procedure

The university announced that it has phased out the use of E-transact and scratch card PINs in favour of a fully online application system.

Applicants are required to provide valid contact details, including a functional email address and personal phone number, during registration.

The university warned that it will not be responsible for failed applications resulting from incorrect or invalid contact information.

For Medicine and Surgery applicants, the university stated that in compliance with CCMAS regulations, O’Level results obtained at two sittings will not be accepted.

The institution also issued a strict warning against false declarations, stating that candidates who provide incorrect information regarding UTME scores, O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), or state of origin will be automatically disqualified and not considered for admission.

Applicants are advised to adhere strictly to all guidelines to avoid disqualification.
