The election commenced at 8:00 AM with a streamlined online accreditation process, followed by voting which ran until 2:30 PM. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stella Chiemeke, alongside the Registrar, Barr. Richmond Omagbemi, and the Bursar, Dr. Sunny Ikeogwu, monitored the proceedings live from the Election Situation Room at the Senate Chamber.
The technical team, led by the Director of ICT, Dr. Bridget Malasowe, ensured the stability of the dedicated voting platform, providing real-time data to the Electoral Committee headed by Dr. Rufus Ijeh.
Representatives from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) monitored the polls. Comrade Eseoghene Ovie Israel, NANS Zone B Director of Action and Mobilization, expressed immense satisfaction with the process, attributing the success to Professor Chiemeke’s "motherly disposition" towards student welfare. He urged the new executives to prioritize dialogue and negotiation over violent unionism.
Similarly, Comrade Otoku Isaiah Zikpo, speaking on behalf of the contestants' agents, adjudged the election as free of manipulation. "The students' will prevailed," he remarked, noting that the platform allowed for a credible choice in an era where many campus elections are marred by irregularities.
