This scholarship is automatically applied as a discount on the recipient's first-year tuition fee, eliminating the need for a separate application process.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the University of Essex 2024 Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Fee Status: Must be classified as an overseas fee payer and be entirely self-funded.
- Residency: Must be ordinarily resident in a member country of the African Union.
- Enrollment: Must register for the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex in October 2024.
- UCAS Applicants: Must make Essex their firm choice by July 12, 2024. Applicants who are placed with Essex through rejection by another institution are not eligible.

- Direct Applicants: Must accept their offer by July 12, 2024.
- Scholarship Conditions: This award is available only for the first year of study and cannot be combined with any other University of Essex scholarships.

Students who receive a repayable loan to fund their studies will still be considered self-funded and eligible for the scholarship.
