The prestigious University of Ibadan has released an internal memorandum detailing the approval of educational loans for numerous students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). This financial support marks a crucial step in facilitating higher education access amidst economic challenges.
The memorandum, dated 18 September 2024, announced that 328 students have had their loan applications approved. Although the funds have not yet been received by the university, the list of beneficiaries has been sent to the respective departments. Heads of Departments have been instructed to allow these students to sit for the 2023/2024 first semester examinations.
This initiative underscores the University of Ibadan’s commitment to supporting its students and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their academic progress.
