University of Ilorin Graduate Wins Nigeria’s Best Primary School Teacher Award

Mr. Francis Taiwo Solanke, a graduate of the Department of Educational Management at the University of Ilorin, has been named the Overall Best Primary School Teacher in Nigeria for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Mr. Francis Taiwo Solanke, a graduate of the Department of Educational Management at the University of Ilorin, has been named the Overall Best Primary School Teacher in Nigeria for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Mr. Solanke, who teaches at Ansar-ud-Deen Main School I, Abeokuta, received the prestigious recognition during the National Teachers’ Summit held at Aso Rock Villa. His outstanding contributions to education earned him multiple honours, including a two-bedroom bungalow under the Ogun State Housing Scheme, presented by Governor Dapo Abiodun, located in an area of his choice.

In addition to the home, Mr. Solanke received the keys to a brand-new vehicle donated by the Federal Government, alongside a ₦50 million cash prize previously awarded at the summit in Abuja. The accolades celebrate his dedication and excellence in primary school education, marking him as a leading figure in Nigeria’s teaching profession.
