University of Ilorin Students Awarded Pre-Doctoral Fellowships by CEGA in the United States
Two exceptional students from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management at the University of Ilorin, Innocent Enahoro Ojiri and Sunmibola Oyetola Olaniyi, have secured prestigious Fellowships from the Centre for Effective Global Action (CEGA) in the United States of America, emerging successful from a competitive pool of applicants across Africa.

Mr. Ojiri is set to pursue his training at Northwest University, while Ms. Olaniyi will undertake her program at the University of California.
Supervisor of the two awardees at the University of Ilorin, Dr. Khadijat Amolegbe, confirmed their selection and outlined the comprehensive predoctoral program, which includes training seminars, coursework, conferences, and curriculum design focusing on socio-economic development. The program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and research networks to conduct impactful evaluations in their respective fields.
The duo will have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research, enhancing their knowledge of rural development and contributing to the advancement of their academic disciplines.
In a letter of appointment addressed to Ms. Olaniyi, signed by Chelsea Downe on behalf of CEGA and the University of Berkeley, it was stated that the fellowship aims to provide African scientists with the skills and research networks essential for conducting impact evaluation studies.
