University of Ilorin Students' Union Negotiates Reduced Transportation Fare

The University of Ilorin Students' Union (SUG) has successfully negotiated a reduction in transportation fare from Post Office to the permanent site, following a recent increase due to fuel price hikes.

 

 

New Fare:

 

N500 (reduced from N800)

Negotiation Details:

 

The SUG, in collaboration with the Student Affairs leadership, met with bus operators to secure a fare reduction, balancing the interests of both parties amid Nigeria's economic challenges.

Student Union's Statement:

 

"We frown at the inflated economy's impact on students' learning experience. We urge students not to pay more than the agreed N500 fare and pledge to advocate for further reductions when economic conditions improve."
