University of Maiduguri Students Sents Petition To Vice Chancellor Over Delayed Results
A group of concerned students from the Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy programs at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMaid) have written to the Vice Chancellor, expressing their deep concern over the persistent delay in the release of their results, particularly for final-year students.
The students, who signed the petition, highlighted that the delay has resulted in their induction ceremonies being held much later than their counterparts in the MBBS program, who receive their results and are inducted in a timely manner.
According to the students, their exams typically conclude in December, but they often do not receive their results until July, leading to an unacceptable delay in their induction. This, they argued, not only affects their academic progression but also impacts their professional development and career prospects.
The students urged the Vice Chancellor to take immediate action to address the issue, working with the relevant departments and faculty members to streamline the result-processing system, ensuring that their results are released in a timely fashion.
The petitioners appreciated the Vice Chancellor's attention to the matter and looked forward to a prompt response.
This development has sparked concerns among students and stakeholders about the need for efficient result-processing systems in Nigerian universities.
