University of Maiduguri's New Vice-Chancellor Receives Congratulatory Visit From Professor Mohammed Dahiru

Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, received a congratulatory visit from Professor Mohammed Dahiru Madawaki, Director of the University of Maiduguri Business School (UMBS), alongside other staff members on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Professor Mele's appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor was approved by the University's Governing Council on September 18, 2024 ¹ ² ³. This decision followed the recommendation of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board, which interviewed four applicants for the position.

As a distinguished scholar in English Language and Linguistics, Professor Mele brings over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and community service to his new role ¹ ². Previously, he served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration).
