The ASUU-NAU Secretariat of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, was agog on Thursday, May 11, 2023, when the Faculty of Education held its maiden Alumni Home-Coming and Award Presentation Ceremony aimed at raising funds for the 100-million ultra-modern virtual classroom project.

According to findings by Myschoolnews, the event was occasioned by the obvious paucity of funds to the education sector and inability of the government to adequately fund education in Nigeria. Hence, the leadership of the faculty of education seized the opportunity to seek support from its alumni, as well as other well-meaning individuals to provide a befitting ultra-modern virtual classroom in line with international best practices.

Speaking during the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone FAS, said the project conceived by the Faculty of Education was timely and in tandem with the vision of his administration.

We promise to put all donations to good use and to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the entire process”.
