Urgent Update on 100L and DE Student ID Card Capturing at AE FUNAI

Educational institutions like the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State (AE FUNAI), have been diligently working to ensure that their students are not only academically sound but also adequately identified. As part of these efforts, a memo was issued on July 23, 2023, mandating all 100 level and Direct Entry (DE) students to complete an online form for student ID card data capture. However, recent developments have prompted a critical update.

AE FUNAI's management had high hopes that students would promptly comply with the directive to complete the online form for student ID card data capture. Unfortunately, the response has been sluggish, resulting in the production of only 1,350 student ID cards for 100 level and DE students. This number falls significantly short of the expected total. Despite repeated warnings and clear deadlines, the university is facing a serious challenge with the slow response. The current situation is deemed unacceptable, considering the importance of student ID cards in the educational process.

The university management has raised concerns about the increasing cases of malpractice during examinations. To address this concern, they have taken a stern stance. Deans, Heads of Departments, and invigilators have been instructed not to permit any student without a valid school ID card to enter examination halls during the upcoming 2022/2023 second-semester examinations.
