Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto to Host Digest Festival Debate Competition

Four faculties from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) will engage in a debate competition at the upcoming Digest annual Festival, scheduled for September 22, 2024, at the A10 lecture hall.

The faculties participating in the competition are:

- Faculty of Law

- Faculty of Management Sciences

- Faculty of Social Sciences

- Faculty of Medical Sciences

Each faculty will be represented by a team of two students, who will present their arguments on the topic: "The Removal of Fuel Subsidy: A Step Forward in Economic Reform or a Burden on Citizens?"

This topic has been a subject of national debate since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies during his inauguration, sparking discussions on its impact on the economy and citizens.

The debate competition aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills, while contributing to the ongoing national conversation on this pressing issue.
