NDLEA Kwara State Commander Visits NACOE Provost, Seeks More Collaboration
The State Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kwara State Command, Commander of Narcotics Hajiya Fatima Abiola Popoola, has lauded the significant contributions and support of the Nigerian Army College of Education (NACOE) to her agency.
The State Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kwara State Command, Commander of Narcotics Hajiya Fatima Abiola Popoola, has lauded the significant contributions and support of the Nigerian Army College of Education (NACOE) to her agency. This commendation was made during her recent courtesy visit to the college at Sobi Cantonment, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Hajiya Abiola expressed her gratitude to the College Provost, Major General Umar Babangida, along with the officers and men of the college, for their unwavering support. She highlighted that the synergy between the NDLEA and NACOE has greatly assisted the agency in fulfilling its constitutional mandate. The various safety measures implemented by the college have notably reduced the level of drug abuse among the youth in the area.
The State Commander further disclosed that the task of apprehending drug peddlers and users could not have been accomplished without the collaboration of key stakeholders, particularly NACOE. She used the opportunity to seek enhanced synergy and collaboration to enable the NDLEA to effectively carry out its duties. Hajiya Fatima emphasized that the NDLEA Kwara State Command looks forward to a stronger working relationship with the college.
In response, Major General Umar Babangida, the Provost of NACOE, appreciated the State Commander for her visit. He commended her efforts in ensuring that the state and its environs remain drug-free. Major General Umar also praised the agency for its numerous drug abuse campaigns and past partnerships with the college. He assured the NDLEA of the college’s readiness to continue collaborating in the fight against drug abuse, smugglers, and users through sensitization lectures and awareness programs within the state.
The visit concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book, the presentation of souvenirs, and a group photograph, marking a memorable and productive engagement between the two institutions.
