New Director of Centre for Arid Zone Studies Visits UNIMAID Information & Media Directorate

The newly appointed Director of the TETFUND Centre of Excellence, Centre for Arid Zone Studies at the University of Maiduguri, Professor S.B. Adamu, paid a familiarization visit to the Directorate of Media and Information on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

During the visit, both units discussed potential areas of collaboration, with Professor Adamu emphasizing the crucial role of the media in promoting the centre's activities. He stated that effective media coverage is essential for achieving its core mandate and expressed his commitment to fostering a strong relationship with the Directorate of Media & Information.

The Acting Director of the Directorate of Media & Information, Abubakar S. Biye, appreciated the Centre for the visit and assured Professor Adamu of the media directorate's full support in promoting the activities of the Centre for Arid Zone Studies. He noted that their platforms are communication channels always available to highlight and promote university-related activities and developments.

The visit marks the beginning of a collaborative effort between the two units to enhance research visibility and outreach for the Centre for Arid Zone Studies. This partnership aims to project the centre to the world and fulfill its mission.
