UDUS Declares Lecture-free Hours for Matriculation Rehearsal, Full Lecture-Free Day for Matriculation

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has announced the schedule for the 2024/2025 academic session matriculation ceremony for newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students.  

According to a statement from the Office of the Registrar, Directorate of Academic Affairs, the ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday, 9th April 2025, at Convocation Square, starting at 9:30 a.m. To ensure a smooth process, a rehearsal session has been scheduled for Tuesday, 8th April 2025 , at 4:00 p.m.

The statement emphasizes that matriculation students are required to complete and sign their Oath forms and the Matriculation Register at their respective faculties. This process is both vital and compulsory, as only those who undergo the matriculation exercise will be recognized as bonafide students of the university.  

Additionally, it was clarified that the event is strictly for newly admitted UG 1, UG 2, and postgraduate students who are not already graduates of the institution.

In a bid to facilitate student participation in both the rehearsal and matriculation ceremony, the University Authority has declared lecture-free hours on Tuesday afternoon, 8th April, and a full lecture-free day on Wednesday, 9th April 2025, for 100 and 200-level students.

The university community anticipates a well-organized ceremony as the newly admitted students officially become part of the prestigious institution.
