Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto to Host Public Lecture on Igbo Influence in Kano's History and Commerce

The Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Professor Bashir Garba, on behalf of the Council, Senate, staff, and students, has extended a cordial invitation to the public to attend a significant lecture titled "The Igbo Factor in the History of Intergroup Relations and Commerce in Kano: Opportunities and Challenges Revisited."

The lecture will be delivered by Professor Ahmed Bako, a renowned scholar of African and Nigerian History, holding a BA from Bayero University, Kano (1980), an MA from the University of California (1984), and a Ph.D. from Bayero University, Kano (1989). Professor Bako is recognized for his extensive contributions to the study of intergroup relations in Nigeria.

This lecture presents an opportunity for scholars, students, and the general public to gain insights into the historical role of the Igbo community in Kano's intergroup relations and commerce, as well as the challenges and opportunities this history presents in contemporary times.
