The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), welcomed new students for the 2024/2025 academic session with an inspiring orientation programme, which began on October 15, 2024. Key officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, offered vital guidance to the freshers.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, encouraged the new intakes to make the most of their time at FUNAAB. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing academics, personal growth, and building meaningful relationships. "Your time here is a precious opportunity," Prof. Kehinde said, urging students to develop critical thinking skills and actively engage in campus life.

Prof. Akinyemi acknowledged the challenges of university life, advising students to seek help when needed and persevere through difficulties. He urged them to fully utilize the University's resources, including tutoring and counselling services.

In her address, the Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, represented by Mr. Adewale Ojoye, emphasized FUNAAB’s commitment to excellence, while the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga, and the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi, introduced students to bursary services and library resources, respectively.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, encouraged students to participate in clubs, societies, and sports to enrich their campus experience, while the Student Union President, Com. Ibraheem Adeyemi, emphasized intellectual and personal development.

The event also featured a captivating performance by the FUNAAB Theatre Troupe, as well as acts by the Kegites Club and Da Vinci, a new stand-up comedian.

The orientation programme set the stage for the freshers to embark on a fulfilling academic journey at FUNAAB.
