Bayero University, Kano (BUK) management has issued a warning to staff members regarding the increasing trend of obtaining loans through unauthorized online platforms. The university expressed concern over salary deductions exceeding the approved limits due to such loans, causing financial difficulties for affected staff.

In a statement released by the Directorate of Public Affairs, BUK advised staff to refrain from filling out online loan forms or using unverified channels without fully understanding the terms and conditions of the loans. The university cautioned staff to be vigilant to avoid being scammed by such platforms.

The management emphasized that it will not take responsibility for any loan accessed without formal clearance from the appropriate university authority. Recent cases have prompted the university to urge staff to exercise extreme caution when dealing with online loan services.
