WAEC Holds Meeting to Address 2024 WASSCE Malpractice and Irregularities

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has commenced its 78th Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) meeting to review cases of malpractice and irregularities reported during the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
In a statement shared on X, WAEC emphasized the significance of the meeting, noting that decisions made would have far-reaching effects on the educational system and the candidates involved. “The 78th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC) begins today to consider & decide on the malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024,” the council announced.
WAEC has urged candidates and the public to stay informed about the outcomes of this critical review, which will impact the status of the withheld results. It was earlier reported that 215,267 results from the 2024 WASSCE were withheld due to various examination-related issues.
