In a remarkable feat of intellectual prowess, Wang Pok Lo, a young prodigy from South Queensferry, has earned his bachelor's degree at the tender age of 13 and subsequently completed his master's degree at 14. The extraordinary youngster is now on a trajectory to obtain his Ph.D. by the age of 18.

His master's studies led him to the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where he achieved a degree in Statistics with Medical Applications. Wang expressed his surprise at being accepted into university at such a young age, emphasizing the importance of humility in acknowledging his achievements.

"It was unexpected, put it this way, I wouldn’t have put money on it. I think it’s important to take on my achievements modestly and use my strengths and weaknesses to improve. I’m not going to rush the final part of my degree just to break a record, as mental health is so important too. There definitely needs to be a balance," he commented.

Wang attributes much of his success to his father, whom he describes as the "main driver" throughout his childhood, actively seeking opportunities for his son despite his youth. Having gained acceptance into the University of Edinburgh for his doctoral research, Wang focuses on population health science in his pursuit of a Ph.D.

Looking ahead, Wang aims to complete his doctorate by 2024 and harbors aspirations of attending medical school to contribute further to research aimed at improving health and society at large. Despite his accelerated academic journey, he emphasizes the importance of stepping away from online learning, expressing excitement for new opportunities and meeting new people.
