Despite the tragic loss of Herbert Wigwe, his vision for a world-class educational institution endures, with a commitment to providing students with a premier learning experience. Nestled in Isiokpo, Rivers State, Wigwe University will offer an array of programs across its four colleges, spanning Management and Social Sciences, Arts, Science and Computing, and Engineering.
The fee structure, as revealed on the university's website, paints a picture of substantial costs, with the Arts college being the most affordable at ₦9.6 million in total fees. Conversely, students enrolled in Engineering, Management and Social Sciences, and Science and Computing colleges will face a significantly higher financial burden, each paying ₦11,998,800. These fees encompass various expenses, including tuition, books, laboratory supplies, and more.
Accommodation fees present an additional financial hurdle, ranging from luxury single-bedroom apartments to classic plans, with costs reaching as high as ₦3,845,000 per session. The university offers a payment schedule allowing fees to be settled in two installments per session.

Responding to inquiries about its decision to charge in dollars, Wigwe University's management clarified that while domestic students will transact in naira, international students have the option to pay in dollars. This strategic move is aimed at attracting a diverse and globally-minded student body.
As anticipation mounts for the university's inaugural intake, it's evident that Wigwe University's entrance into the Nigerian educational landscape signifies a paradigm shift, with affordability emerging as a key concern. While the institution promises unparalleled academic excellence and state-of-the-art facilities, the hefty price tag raises questions about accessibility and inclusivity in higher education. Only time will tell how Wigwe University's pricing strategy will shape its reputation and impact on the Nigerian educational sector.
