Wigwe University, founded by the late CEO of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, is set to commence operations in August 2024.
Wigwe University, the brainchild of the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, is gearing up to officially commence its operational activities in August 2024. Situated in Isiokpo, within the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, the university is poised to offer a wide array of programs across four major colleges, namely the College of Management and Social Sciences, the College of Arts, the College of Science and Computing, and the College of Engineering.

In a notable move earlier this year, the private institution appointed Prof. Miles Davis, a distinguished scholar from the United States, as its pioneer Vice-Chancellor. Prof. Davis brings to the table a Doctorate in Human and Organizational Sciences from The George Washington University, USA, along with a wealth of academic and administrative experience.
Joining the university's Board of Trustees are eminent personalities such as Prof. Fabian Ajogwu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Founding Partner of Kenna Partners, as well as Dr. Ajoritsedere Awosika and Mrs. Mosunmola Belo-Olusoga, among others.
