LAUTECH Monitors Health of Injured Ex-Student Following Ogbomoso Shooting Incident
The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, is monitoring the health of an ex-student, Iyanda Femi Israel, who was injured in a recent shooting incident outside the university.
The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has confirmed its awareness and monitoring of the health condition of one of its former students injured during a recent shooting incident in the town.

Registrar of LAUTECH, Kayode Ogunleye, released a statement on Thursday, addressing the incident that resulted in the unfortunate death of one person during a clash at a club in Ogbomoso. Additionally, two individuals, including the ex-student, sustained injuries.
The injured ex-student, identified as Iyanda Femi Israel, a graduate of the Department of Management and Accounting, was reportedly shot during the incident outside the university premises. Ogunleye clarified that the deceased was not associated with LAUTECH, extending condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
“The University Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has taken the time to find out the true position of things on the fracas that led to the shooting incident outside the university on April 23, 2024. It is on this basis that the university is making this release.

“The university management has been able to confirm that an ex-student of the university, Iyanda Femi Israel, who is a graduate of the Department of Management and Accounting, sustained a gunshot injury during the incident that occurred in a club outside the university and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
“Furthermore, information made available to the Management confirmed that the person who was reportedly shot dead was neither a student nor graduate of the university. While commiserating with friends and family of the deceased, the university management reiterates her commitment to the safety and welfare of staff and students.
“Meanwhile, necessary actions are already being taken to monitor the health of the injured ex-student. Staff and students are hereby enjoined to maintain peace on the campus while going about their lawful business,” the statement concluded.
As LAUTECH continues to monitor the health of the injured ex-student, the university urges staff and students to prioritize peace and safety on campus, emphasizing its commitment to the well-being of its community members.
