Yobe State Government to Fete Two Students for Global Achievement

The Yobe State Government is set to honour two exceptional students, 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullah and 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, who emerged as world best in English language skills and overall debate competitions, respectively, at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom.

Nafisa and Rukayya, both students of the Nigerian Tulip International College, represented Nigeria and outshone 20,000 participants from 69 countries to achieve this feat.

The two students are beneficiaries of the Yobe State Government's scholarship programme, which covers full tuition for 890 students at the Nigerian Tulip International College.

Yobe State Governor has expressed pride in the students' achievement, describing it as a great honour to the state and country. He assured that the government would continue to invest in education, subsidize it for every child, and provide necessary support to improve the quality of education in the state .

The government has reconstructed schools destroyed by insurgency, provided furniture, books, laboratory equipment, and employed more qualified teachers to improve education quality. Currently, about 40,000 Yobe state students are on government scholarship, studying various courses in universities and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria and overseas.
