Young Mother bags PhD/Award in Mechanical Engineering, despite her new responsibility as a mom she was able to excel in her program
An exceptional Mother from Mexico named Dafne Gaviria has achieved an outstanding academic feat after being awarded a Doctorate degree (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Dafne Gaviria started her higher academic journey at the National Autonomous University of Mexico where she earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. She furthered her education in the institution earning a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Shortly after her Master’s degree in Mexico, Dafne enrolled for a PhD at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. She joined the university’s Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering.
During the course of her PhD program, Dafne had a child – a girl, and despite the new responsibility, she was able to excel in her program. Her Supervisor, Hervé Morvan celebrated her success on LinkedIn.
Professor Hervé Morvan shared a picture of her graduation ceremony describing the moment as one of the special moments in academia.
He said: “here are some special moments in academia such as the day one of the students you have mentored & supervised graduates. This moment last Friday was particularly special when Dafne, my last research student at University of Nottingham, shared it with her daughter, Maya. Well done Dafne Gaviria on your PhD!”
