University of Abuja Receives Major Donation from Alliance Hospital Services Limited
Alliance Hospital Services Limited, Abuja, has donated 150 executive seats for seminar rooms and financed armoured power cables for the electrification of a 500-capacity lecture theatre at the University of Abuja’s College of Health Sciences.
The University of Abuja has received a significant donation from Alliance Hospital Services Limited, Abuja, aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of its College of Health Sciences.
The donation, spearheaded by the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Christopher Otabor, includes 150 executive seats for two seminar rooms in the newly completed College of Health Sciences building. Additionally, the hospital financed the procurement of armoured power cables to facilitate the electrification of the 500-capacity lecture theatre on the university’s main campus.
Speaking at the handover event, Dr. Otabor highlighted the hospital’s commitment to supporting medical education in Nigeria, stating, "This is our modest contribution to the infrastructure needs of medical training in the country." He also assured the university of Alliance Hospital's readiness to provide access to its facilities for the practical training of medical students.
The delegation from Alliance Hospital was warmly received by members of the university management, led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi, alongside staff of the College of Health Sciences, headed by the Provost, Professor Titus Sunday Ibekwe.
Expressing gratitude, Professor Maikudi commended Alliance Hospital for its generosity, noting that the donations would significantly enhance the teaching and learning environment for medical students.
The collaboration between the University of Abuja and Alliance Hospital underscores the importance of partnerships in advancing medical education and improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
