According to him, the assessment is not designed to celebrate winners alone but to inspire every ward to embrace continuous quality improvement, teamwork, and professional excellence.

Representing the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Adamu Girei Bakari, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Dahiru Yusuf Ribadu, applauded the Committee for its diligence, fairness, and objectivity. He noted that the consistency in the assessment records reflects the Committee’s credibility and commitment to institutional development.

Dr. Ribadu challenged every ward to aspire for greater heights, stressing that remaining consistently at the lower end of the performance table should serve as a call for deliberate administrative attention and corrective action.

“Every ward possesses the potential to rise through commitment, innovation and teamwork,” he said.

Beyond cleanliness and orderliness, the assessment evaluates wards on prompt reporting of faulty facilities, effective utilisation of hospital resources, quality patient care, adherence to professional standards, responsiveness to operational challenges, and other graded performance indicators.

The monthly exercise continues to strengthen MAUTH’s quality assurance framework, reinforcing a culture where excellence is a habit and service is transformed into standard, performance into pride, and commitment into compassionate, patient-centred care.
