FULAFIA VC Kida Seeks Stronger Security Collaboration With Police, Nscdc

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, has sought stronger collaboration with security agencies to address security challenges affecting the University and its host communities.

Kida made the appeal during separate courtesy visits to the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Lafia.

At the Police Command Headquarters, the Vice-Chancellor, who was received by the Commissioner of Police, Mu'awiyah Halilu, stressed that the safety of students, staff and other members of the University community remained a top priority.

He noted that a secure environment was essential to the socio-economic development of Lafia and its environs.

In his response, Halilu assured the University of the command's commitment to strengthening collaboration to safeguard lives and property.

During a similar visit to the NSCDC headquarters, Kida reiterated the need for sustained partnership with security agencies to promote peace and effectively tackle insecurity within the institution and neighbouring communities.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Ilemona Adofu; Registrar, Dr. Nuradeen Abdu; Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Bashir Ozomata; Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Musa Ogah; Acting Director of Environmental Safety, Mr. Ibrahim Mijinyawa; and Deputy Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Femi Ogungbemi.
