The Zamfara State Students Association at the Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has reported on the outcomes of its recent engagements with key university stakeholders. The meetings, held on September 27, 2024, included a productive discussion with the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Lawal Saad, addressing significant challenges facing the student body.

A major focus of the discussions was the ongoing issue of withheld NECO results by the Zamfara State Government, which has adversely affected many students. The association also raised concerns regarding the NELFund, seeking solutions to improve the disbursement of financial aid, and highlighted the need for female conductors for female buses.

The association’s leadership, including PRO II Ahmad Halliru Yahaya, also met with Staff Adviser Dr. Al-Amin Tsafe to discuss the association's progress and future initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of Zamfara State students at FUGUS.

Additionally, the association engaged with two candidates contesting for positions in the upcoming Student Representative Council (SRC) elections, discussing their visions for student leadership and plans to address broader student issues.

The Zamfara State Students Association reiterated its commitment to advocating for the rights and welfare of its members and ensuring their voices are represented in university matters. The association expressed gratitude to the Dean of Student Affairs, the Staff Adviser, and the SRC aspirants for their cooperation and support.
