12-Year-Old Elijah Muhammad Jr. Makes History as the Youngest Black College Student in Oklahoma, Pursuing Cybersecurity Degree

In an extraordinary feat, 12-year-old Elijah Muhammad Jr. has secured admission to the Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), marking him as the youngest black college student in the history of Oklahoma. Elijah is poised to graduate with a degree in Cybersecurity, setting a precedent for academic excellence at his young age.
According to Elijah's father, Muhammad Sr., the prodigious student will achieve a rare milestone by graduating with both a high school diploma and an associate's degree next year. Muhammad Sr. shared his pride, stating, "He’s graduating with his associate’s degree and his high school diploma at the same time, which will be next year."

Reflecting on his unique journey, Elijah Muhammad Jr. recounted the surprise and awe from his classmates when they learned about his age. "A bunch of them were like, ‘How old are you?’ Once I told them my age, they all got surprised," he shared with KFor.

Elijah Muhammad Jr. hails from a family of exceptional achievers, with his sister Shania Muhammad holding the record for graduating from two American universities with two degrees at the age of 14. Elijah, breaking his sister's record, expressed excitement about the prospect of earning scholarships, drawing inspiration from his sister's achievements.
"I’m very excited about getting scholarships because I’ve seen my sister get multiple scholarships, and I was like, man, I can’t wait until I start getting my scholarships," he expressed to Atlanta Black Star.

His father, Elijah Muhammad Sr., highlighted the healthy competition between his two youngest children, stating, "When he sees her accomplish certain things, he’s like I’m up next, and I can do it. We are the cheering section for our scholars."
