19 Students Discharged, Four Undergoing Treatment After Nasarawa Stampede

Nineteen students of Nasarawa State University in Keffi, who sustained injuries during a stampede last Friday, have been discharged from the hospital, while four others are still undergoing treatment.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of two students, identified as Grace Danladi and Rose Micheal, both indigenes of Nasarawa State from the western zone.

Confirming the update, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Margaret Elayo, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased students and visited their families to offer support and consolation.

The state government is yet to announce any form of compensation for the families of the deceased students. However, Commissioner Elayo assured that the government is committed to providing assistance and support to the affected families.

The husband of late Rose Micheal expressed his devastation over the loss of his wife, while the district head of Edege, Aminu Enupe, appreciated the government's concern and called for better management of such situations in the future.

The incident has prompted Governor Sule to order an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stampede, aiming to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
