Professor Wahab Egbewole, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has emphasized the need for sufficient land allocation to universities, stating that larger expanses of land are essential for meaningful contributions to development.

During an annual Media Iftar in Ilorin, Prof. Egbewole highlighted the university's partnership with Oriental Energies, involving 4,500 hectares of land for value addition farming, particularly maize and soya bean cultivation, aimed at commercial production and export.
