In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, 19-year-old Hajara Dan’azumi from Nigeria emerged victorious in the Women’s International Hashemite Competition for Memorisation of the 60 Hizb with Tajwid Holy Qur’an, held in Jordan. Besting 40 contestants representing 38 countries, Dan’azumi's exceptional performance earned her widespread recognition.

Dan’azumi, a second-year Botany student at Gombe State University, showcased her mastery of the Quran, securing the top position with an impressive score of 99.5. Her achievement was celebrated not only in Nigeria but also in the international arena.

As a token of appreciation, Dan’azumi was awarded a cash prize of 5 million naira and a full scholarship covering her education up to the Ph.D. level. Additionally, the governor donated 5 million naira to Dan’azumi's Qur’anic school, Abubakar Siddiq Islamiyya, recognizing its role in nurturing her talent and shaping her success.
